    School Visit after 17 Years

    Back to school
Sunday I went for a friend’s marriage ceremony at my school Paranjpe Vidyalaya, Andheri.
When I entered into the main lobby of school, I started recollecting those golden days of my life.
I entered in the PT Hall where marriage ceremony was going on, and I remember here I used to come for PT classes.
I remembered those fear, anxieties while doing those exercises. I remember those scolding of teacher for doing naughty things. I remember standing in a Que.
I still remember that day. It was a last time we all gathered in the room for Scout exam.
I was well dressed in scout uniform and ready for the exam in confidence.
We were sitting in the row and waiting for our turn to go in for exam.
Suddenly I noticed that somebody had stolen my cap and other stuff which I kept beside.
I got terrible that now I will not be able to give exam without a cap and other stuffs.
I felt like crying, but I kept mum and was asking everybody to return back my stuff.
When I got my turn, I told my teacher what happened….but nothing happened.
I gave the exam but till date I couldn’t find who that nut was!
After the marriage ceremony we were about to go home. And mom asked me about water. So I showed her where it was.
Suddenly I strike that I can check my tenth class room. So I rushed upstairs to see the classroom.
I reached nearby classroom and lost in the fond memories.
And today I came across a new blog started by unknown.
    I am becoming nostalgic.

    Birdwatching in Tungareshwar Wildlife Sanctuary

    Hi

On Sunday 18th November 2007, I went out for bird watching along with my TIS colleagues for second time.

Vidyut, Vinay and Girish were with me. For a surprise this time madz (my wife) also came along with us.

We had planned to go for this trek along with BNHS (The Bombay Natural History Society).

Venue was at Tungareshwar, Vasai, and Mumbai. Tungareshwar is sacred place (over 100-year-old temple of Lord Shiva) and declared as a wildlife Sanctuary in the year 2003.

Tungareshwar is quite good place for monsoon treking and it’s nearby to Mumbai. I have been here several times with my college friends in college days for picnics.

I was quite surprise to see that the place has been now flooded with people. I hope this beautiful place will remain peaceful in future and animals will have their natural shelter without any disturbance from Human animals.

As we decided to go for this trek, I and my wife woke up early to get started. We met Vidyut at Andheri station around 6:15am and our journey started with 6:47am train to Virar.

Around 7:15 am we reached to Vasai Station with pleasant cold weather.

We took a rick to go to Tungareshwar. The wind coming from a open space was actually made us shivering.

I felt to have cup of tea and proceed ahead but decided to reach there at first.

Since Girish and Vinay had already reached before us there so they started their journey inside the jungle.

After we reached there we also started the walk inside. After few minutes wondering there we saw the BNHS guys.

Mr.Sanal Nair and Aadesh Shivkar were leading the team.

Vidyuat showed us the few beautiful sunbirds. Then we saw Racket tailed drongo and babblers.

As we moved on we were looking at the very beautiful birds. Aadesh and Sanal were guiding enthuastically to all. They were explaining the types and behavioural of different birds. Sanal was also speaking about the plants and other environmental things. I dont remember the most of the scientific names now.

Till 1:00 pm we were looking at the nature of Tungareshwar. We reached at final point that was a temple and stopped for the lunch. I came to know about some of the butterfly names like Leopard, blue moth, Lemon pansy, grey pansy.

Trek was indeed pleasant and mind blowing. I'm hoping to see more with BNHS guys.

    Thanks BNHS.
